Making Strides for Breast Cancer Awareness

  • 3 Nov 2025

On Saturday October 18th, 2025, the Sharp team in Allentown joined the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ sponsored walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.  Lakeysia Parks, Executive Assistant at Sharp, describes the event.

At Sharp, our commitment to well-being extends far beyond the pharmaceutical packaging services we deliver for our clients.  We believe in being an active, supportive partner in the communities we serve, which is why we were proud to join the American Cancer Society’s annual Making Strides fundraising walk to help end breast cancer.

From the moment we made the commitment to participate, the response from our Sharp colleagues to join the event was nothing short of inspiring. Team Sharp rallied almost 100 strong, with our colleagues and their families lacing up their shoes for the cause. The day was a powerful demonstration of collective strength, uniting people with a shared purpose: to celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and show our resolute determination in the face of the disease. Through our participation, we supported the goal of the event to collect vital funds and raise awareness, directly supporting survivors and their families, as well as funding life-saving breast cancer research.

This ‘Making Strides’ event is more than just a walk; it is a movement that unites communities nationwide to help end breast cancer. For Sharp, the event gave us a wonderful opportunity to promote employee well-being and unite our team in contributing to a collective goal that aligns perfectly with Sharp’s purpose: to help make lives better.

This event brought our colleagues and their families together in a meaningful and positive way. “I loved it, this cause is near and dear to my heart. It was heartwarming and I was able collaborate with employees that I met for the first time,” said Heather, US Project Manager.

“The ACS event was both heartwarming and inspiring,” added Tanner, US Order Management Specialist. “Having family members and colleagues who are survivors, it was great to see the support from our community and the Sharp team.”

Michael, US Quality Assurance Specialist, summed up the sentiment, saying, “The Breast Cancer Walk was a powerful day of unity and hope, where family, Team Sharp, and other communities came together to walk in strength, to fight against breast cancer.”

We organized Sharp’s participation in this Making Strides event to demonstrate that a sustainable future depends on vibrant, healthy communities working together.  We are proud to contribute both our time and our donations to this important work and to make a positive social impact. It feels good to dedicate your time to a cause that we believe in and that benefits the greater good.  We’re already looking forward already to next year!
